Tantas Histórias

One of the simplest videos I have seen is by Brandi Carlisle for her song, "The Story". It's been on a GM hybrid commercial and Grey's Anatonomy. Crazy, right?

The song is purely delicious and echoes Alanis Morissette with a hint of country in this melody. She has said that she loves the dramatic tone from her voice, contrasting her personality.

Great late night song, so maybe you should wait a few hours...

I love that theatre. I could easily live in there. Awesome cinematography and lighting here.

In My Head: "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" by Sufjan Stevens (see old post ;)

You know that feeling of discovering an artist before everyone else and when he/she becomes big, you get to brag that you knew and loved them before their hit song gets overplayed on the radio?

Yeah, Brandi's one of mine. I discovered her through Grey's, but "The Story" was one of those iTunes Free Song of the Week, and I just love how once you get to the second stanza that her voice cracks a bit. If my voice cracked at the Pops Concert last year I'd probably get laughed at, but it works for her. It sounds more raw.

PS. On a whim, I purchased the Garden State soundtrack and now I am absolutely in love with it.
