Sam Beam is a magician. If that name rings a bell, it's not because he is a magician. He is the mastermind also called Iron and Wine. I just like to think of him as a mysterious charmer because his lyrics just make me stop dead in my tracks. Everytime I listen to anything by Iron and Wine, I will not pay attention to what he is actually saying. I am much too occupied hearing the instruments sway and how the song is orchestrated. It's not until the fourth of fifth play that I hunt down the lyrics like it's a thirst.
I recently discovered that Iron and Wine is the perfect soundtrack for not only in Princeton, 10 minutes from my hometown, but also at Eastern at night. Sam Beam can hang out with my anytime he wishes.
"History of Lovers" - Reminds me of Whiskeytown at the beginning.Such a catchy, prideful song. Awesome.
"The Trapeze Swinger" - Bittersweet audio scrapbook.
